Wassail

Folks make this centuries-old punch in many ways - some use ale, while others add savory herbs.


The name comes from a toast meaning "Be Well."

Serves 4-6

Ingredients:

Directions:

Put the fruit and wine in a saucepan and heat over low flame until starting to steam (DO NOT BOIL)

Put the sugar and spices in a disposable paper coffee filter.

Tie with string and add to the wine.

Allow to steep for 15 minutes.

Serve warm.
